Maarten Baeyens

Maarten obtained a master’s degree in mobility sciences from Hasselt University and has built up extensive experience in cities such as Antwerp, Turnhout and Geel as well as for the Intercommunal Development Company for the Kempen region (IOK). In the early years, he was involved in sustainable parking policy. Afterwards, he worked as a mobility expert mainly on traffic safety and the implementation of a sustainable modal shift, with a special focus on cycling policy.
Maarten is always looking for new opportunities for a sustainable and safe mobility system that is fair for everyone and contributes to a greener world. In addition to providing advice for urban projects, he also teaches at the Flemish Foundation for Mobility Knowledge and as a driving instructor theory. In this way, he likes to pass on his knowledge and message to a wider audience.
