Jelle graduated in biology and subsequently followed a training as environmental coordinator. After a few years at a waste processing company, he started working at various environmental consultancy companies, where he always helped to expand the biodiversity practice. Today, he can rely on his extensive knowledge of local fauna and flora, built up over more than thirty years. With his broad experience, from wind farms to industrial projects, he likes to go deep into the field to make a real difference.
As an ecologist, Jelle is involved daily in optimizing the relationship between biodiversity and businesses. He is convinced that, when biodiversity is included at the start of a project, it becomes an asset instead of an obstacle. When developing a project, he first extensively tests the site against the various biodiversity measures (Natura 2000, red list species, local ecological networks, etc.). He then looks for the shared added value by integrating the needs of nature, the government and private actors.
