Heleen Van Cauwenberghe

GIS / landscape / urban policy
Heleen first studied geography at Ghent University and later landscape development at Ghent University College. She then worked as a researcher and GIS expert in urbanism and climate, specifically on the Urban Heat Island effect. Since then, she has broadened her field of work with more than 10 years of experience in urban development and spatial planning, supporting both governments and private actors in solving project issues and handling urban permits.
Heleen likes to cast her eye for detail on various assignments, in particular GIS analyses, landscape studies, the preparation of insightful maps and georeferencing of plans. In addition, she likes to think creatively from the perspective of urban development regulations to make qualitative concepts legally feasible. In addition to a problem-solving attitude, Heleen attaches great importance to an interdisciplinary project approach.
