Bart initially studied IT, but eventually started at a consultancy firm specialising in acoustics. He then obtained a diploma in building acoustics from the engineering association IE-net. In the meantime, he is a certified Flemish environmental expert in sound and vibrations, a permanent member of the Belgian Acoustic Association (ABAV) and works as an expert on the latest standards in building acoustics at the Belgian NBN. Finally, together with the department of civil engineering at KU Leuven, he also conducts scientific research within this relatively young discipline.




With his specialised knowledge of building acoustics, Bart contributes to greater comfort and better quality of life in the built environment. He easily connects with other disciplines and likes to look for solutions that go beyond just the acoustic requirements. By carrying out analyses that are as accurate as possible and thinking creatively, he is also able to reduce the use of materials and save on construction costs. In his spare time, he supports two local youth associations and his family is also a foster family.
